A Dark and Stormy Night
It was a dark and stormy night, the kind of night when I wanted to curl up before a fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate -- except it was the middle of August! It was too hot to start a fire, even if I had a fireplace, which I do not.
According to the weather map, two lines of thunderstorms would come through, and the second looked like it would be more fierce than the first -- and it would arrive just in time to not be able to go to sleep. Woof! As it turned out, the second line passed to the south of us, so all was well at bedtime, except that my mind was running rampant. Be still, my mind!
Today, a large cell of thunderstorms is heading this way. Dare I hope it will arrive in time to knock out power to the washing machine, dishwasher, and vacuum cleaner? Something tells me it's dangerous to think that way. After all, it would knock power out to the computer, fridge, and microwave, as well. Double-Woof!
