Red Sky in the Morning
I tried to take a picture of the red sky this morning, but it didn't come out very well. I took it from my dining room window, looking across the carport. Bad way to take a picture, but when it's 26 degrees F out, and you're padding about in your gown and slippers . . . Still, you can get an idea of just how red the sky was -- redder than it looks in the picture.
It brought to mind that verse: "Red sky at night, a sailor's delight. Red sky in the morning, a sailor's warning." (Matthew 16:2-3). This sky was definitely a sailor's warning! Don't even think about going for a sail today!
Some years back, I saw a very red sky while riding the train to work. I told a co-worker about it, and he used his computer to create a picture of a red sky framing skyscrapers. Beautiful! I still have it.
Well, the red sky faded, and for a while, it seemed as though the clouds might win out over Miss Merry Sunshine. Of course, she knew better! Now, she's shining brightly. I'm so glad. I have to have my Miss Merry Sunshine.
