We Should Love a Country Enough to Obey its Laws

Although there is much truth in what this writer [endorsing illegal immigrants] says, it seems to me to be an over-simplification of the situation. The illegal immigrants buy falsified Social Security cards, drivers licenses, birth certificates, voter registrations, etc. and live as though they entered the country legally.

No matter that they don't actually know what this country is about. They can't tell you who the first six presidents were (Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, and Quincy Adams); who the presidents were during World War II (Yes, plural; there were two, Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman); or what the electoral college is, why it was formed, or which disputed elections it has settled (the most recent being 2020).

The list goes on and on and on, because illegal aliens are here for selfish purposes, not because they love this country. If you love a country, you obey its laws, starting when you enter, whether by birth, as a visitor, or through the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
